The Blog
Compromise
One of the greatest Kings of Israel was Solomon. God asked him in a dream recorded in 2 Chronicles 1:7b, “Ask me whatever you want me to give you.” Solomon answered and said, “Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people.”
Speak The Truth
This could open up a can of worms. With all humility, the can needs to be opened and we need to be stirred out of slumber and complacency. Opening up a can of worms is better than dwelling in a den of vipers.
I Don't Understand
We all dread that middle of the night phone call from the Police, that knock at the door from a Military Chaplain, the screeching of tires you hear from the front porch or the call from the Doctors office with your test results. These invoke a sense of dread and anxiety unlike anything else we face.
Feeling Full?
Have you ever eaten too much? It’s terrible. That feeling of fullness you get and you don’t even want to see food for a good while…think Thanksgiving dinner! But have you ever been hungry? So hungry all you can think about is getting something to eat, anything!
Frustrated?
While I was pondering what might be on my heart to Blog on, I was drawing a blank. I believe it was because I’m in a season that I am simple “over” being in, I’m tired, and I’m frustrated. So there you have it. #reallife
Mending Broken
Have you ever broken something? Some things can be mended or repaired easier than others. If you break a vase just right and there are only a couple pieces you could glue it and maybe it would look fine and still be usable. But if you drop a glass on the tiled kitchen floor most likely it would shatter and there is no fixing that mess!
Victory Is Coming
I talk a lot about the wilderness….maybe it’s because I’ve been living in it for a good bit, going around mountains and learning lessons. Maybe you’ve been in a season like me or a dry season…God is a God of timing so whatever you have been going through let this word from Dana Jarvis be an encouragement to you as it was to me. God is for us, he is bringing us out and into an amazing new season of fruitfulness and joy!
Still Waiting
Do you hate to wait, for anything? Exactly…we live in an instant everything society. We have microwaves, high speed internet (because god forbid it’s slow) the fast lane on the highway, instant pictures from our phone, no more having to get them developed, and the ever amazing DVR…we don’t even have to sit through commercials anymore!
The God Who Sees
As I was reading through the account of Abraham, Sarah and Hagar in Genesis I saw something that I found interesting. When Sarah fails to conceive the son that God had promised her, she takes matters into own hands and gives Abraham her maid, Hagar. I can’t imagine how Hagar must have felt to be used for the sake of gaining an heir for her mistress.
Let It Be
As I was seeking God for a Blog topic and wondering what He would have me write…nothing was coming to my spirit. After a few days I thought…he’s silent for a reason. I will not force something he isn’t giving me. When we are in a season of healing or waiting, it’s important to slow down and just be.
Who Is Jesus?
Is Jesus merely handy to have when we need him or is he someone we cant’ live without? Is he useful when we need something or is he all that we need? Is he convenient when we have a prayer list that needs answers and forgotten about when we are busy and happy? Am I the only one who wonders?
In The Waiting
So I read this the other day…and thought she has totally been in my head! I just couldn’t have said it any better so I decided to host Ana Munoz on Grace for the Journey today…enjoy!
God Only Knows
Songs always seem to speak to me. It seems the right one always pops up on the radio when I need it. I’ve been hearing the new song by King and Country “God Only Knows” lately and it spoke volumes so I’m passing my thoughts along to you…as usual…!
It Takes Practice
In my quiet time today I came across this scripture…”By patience possess your souls.” The Passion translation says it like this, “And by standing firm with patient endurance you will find your souls deliverance.” This scripture is saying so much…lets dig into it.
Winds of Change
This is a bit of a different Blog…just a cry from my heart and a prayer for the Church of Jesus Christ…
The Better Way
Proverbs 16:32 NIV “Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.” The BBE translation says “He who is slow to be angry is better than a man of war, and he who has control over his spirit than he who takes a town.”
Under Construction
Have you ever noticed how life can sneak up behind you and knock you down? Or maybe that’s just me…its not a comfortable feeling to find yourself on the sidewalk with skinned up knees.
