Symphony
Isn’t it just the most amazing feeling when you so clearly know God is speaking to you? Like you KNOW it…it brings such peace and comfort to realize what you say you believe is actually happening! It comes alive in the moment and it’s just mind blowing.
The other day at work I began singing inside myself a song. I knew I’d heard it on the radio but not recently or anything so I was a little curious how I knew the words…but I did. It was singing a chorus from the song Symphony by Switch.
“Cause even in the madness
There is peace
Drowning out the voices all around me
Through all of this chaos
You are writing a symphony.”
It kept coming to me throughout the day but I didn’t really think too much about it. Then as I got off of work, I turned on my car to leave…that song was playing right at the chorus!!! Immediately I knew God was actually singing those words over ME!!! He was giving me a message…that even in the madness of my life situations, He is providing peace…peace that is surpassing my own understanding; peace when I should not feel peace given my circumstances, peace when everything around me is screaming chaos…that peace.
That peace can drown out all of the contrary voices telling me to panic, that I won’t make it or that all is lost. Through all of that chaos GOD is writing a symphony over my life. I looked up the word symphony and one meaning is simply “harmony”. I felt God say to me…every contrary sound/voice you are hearing around you I am bringing into harmony for you. I’m going to use every bad, hard, ugly situation in your life and make it a beautiful harmonious symphony.
Harmony means “an orderly or pleasing combination of elements”. God is taking all of the elements that are out of harmony and bringing them into order in my life. He IS, not he will someday, sometime, but he IS doing it now. Wow…I sat there in my car and just smiled and thanked God for his amazing and tender care for me. That he cared enough to sing over me his great love for my life and how he is working on all of it.
Goodness…and then came that peace filling my heart. It may seem like God is late or has lost your address but I can assure you he knows exactly where you are and he IS working on your behalf. Sometimes we don’t see or feel it but that does not negate the fact that it’s happening. Faith, after all, believes what you cannot see, feel, touch or smell with your senses. You believe it because you KNOW it. Your spirit man bears witness with the fact that it is true.
Whatever is weighing heavy on your heart today…know that God is no respecter of persons and if he is working on my bag of problems he surely is working on yours. It doesn’t matter what it is, he is faithful and bigger than all of it.
Hebrews 10:23 states, “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful…
Of course it’s so much easier to say we believe something than it is to live that belief out when all hell breaks lose! That is when we realize what we really believe. It sometimes takes a hardship to check our faith to see if we really believe or we just think we do. Nothing grows faith like having to actually get out of the boat and walk on the water; or to trust when every circumstance is going contrary to what you believe.
Be encouraged today, God is working on everything that concerns you. He knows the exact right time things needs to change. Let his peace fill our heart!
