I was sitting at the beach today and God began to speak to me…because Jesus loves the beach too!! The ocean is in constant movement, constant surging in and back out. Even on a calm day when the waves are small, it’s never completely still or quiet. As I listened to the roar of the waves crashing to the shore, I thought of God’s voice.

Busy seems to be the buzzword today. We all seem to be so busy all of the time. We think our effort and busyness will make all of the things we are busy with get done. But have you ever noticed it doesn’t? What the heck? If we are so busy and doing, doing, doing, why are there still eleven hundred things on our to do list?? Help me Jesus…

I’ve been praying for revelation lately when reading the Word. The Holy Spirits job is to teach us. “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative-that is, the Holy Spirit-He will teach you everything and remind you of everything I told you”John 14:26.  

There are many voices in our heads sometimes. Many people do not realize that we do not have to think on just any thought that comes into our minds. Just because we are thinking something does not mean it is our thought. How can we know the difference and what do we do about the thoughts filling our minds? 

We think we can only see what is seen with the human eye. But there is so much more that is in us that we often don’t realize much less “see.” How do we learn to look beyond the obvious to the deeper possibilities that lie within us? 

Voices. They are all around us. People try to tell us their opinion, we read articles that present a certain viewpoint, we hear the news filling us with their thoughts, we have our own opinions, and sometimes our minds get bombarded with all of it! But…whose opinion matters the most, who is right and what is the truth??

I shared a statement on Facebook the other day and said, “Forgiving doesn’t always mean reconciliation.” I received a lot of comments from people wanting to understand this more, and who thought it would make an amazing Blog topic. We all deal with people…and with people come “situations” icky, hard to deal with, and hurtful situations. Yikes...

We’ve all experienced that feeling of excitement when we get a new job, or are expecting a baby, a promotion at our job or are going off to College. Life is full of great things that we look forward to.

I’ve been around long enough to know that growth and maturity usually don't happen when I'm living in my comfort zone. Just because I know it doesn’t mean I like it.

Anchor is: a reliable or principal support, a mainstay, something that serves to hold an object in place, a source of security or stability, to cause to be fixed in place, to cause to feel attached or secure.

Psalm 23:6… “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”This verse has so much deep meaning and beautiful symbolism! Let’s explore it!

Psalms 23:5… “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.” Wow there is so much in this little verse. Let’s unpack this together…

Part 4 Psalms 23:4… “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.  Yikes…the valley of the shadow of death does not sound fun…

Part 3… Psalms 23:3, “He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.The Message translation reads like this, “True to Your word, You let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.We talked last week about why God leads us to rest. This next verse continues to tell us the “why”. 

Part 2…Psalms 23:2,  “He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters.”The Passion translation states it this way, “He offersa resting place for me in His luxurious love, His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.”Wow! 

I’ve been meditating on Psalm 23 for some time so I decided to do a series of 6 Blogs on this Psalm. There is so much depth in each verse, so much the Lord is saying to us. We can miss it if we just simply read the verse and not study what is being said. Today let’s look at Psalm 23:1…

The reality is that for most of us, our words are wrong before they ever even leave our mouths because they are often generated from an impatient, unfiltered, self-exalting heart. OUCH! 😳 Whaaaaat? 😲

“They” say…Have you ever heard people say that, or have you said that yourself? My question is who in the world are “they” and who made ‘them” the experts in anything?
